Looking Back

Yesterday I turned 33 which got me to thinking about my life and where it is at. I am on this journey with Christ which is awesome and it is this journey that has helped me to realize how truly blessed I am. I have 4 amazing kids, a wife that is my everything, a great career and a ton of friends and family that care about me. If you would have asked me 5 years ago about my life I would have had a very different view. I would have been focussed on the things in my life. You know the material things. I would have been focussed on what my friends had that I don't. I thought these things would make me happy. Over the past few months I have realized more and more that none of those things would be here without God, I would have nothing without him. I am focussing more on the relationships in my life than the material things. Yeah, there are absolutely things I want in my life, a new TV would be cool, a new car would be really great since we only have one car in our family of 6. But none of those things really matter when you get down to it. It's been almost 1 year since we turned our lease car back in. We have made due without it for almost 1 year. I never would have thought it could be done. When we turned my car in I felt like less of a man because we were down to one car, that's not the case at all. We only need one car, God has given us the gift of Kim being a stay at home mom which makes it flexible for us. God has given us the gift of friends and family living close by to help when we do need a second vehicle. Anyway, just wanted to take a minute out of a busy day to thank God for everything he does for us. Amen
